STONE & QUARTZ WALL CLADDING PROGRAM
SelectSurfaces’ stone fabrication program is designed for the growing demand in commercial architecture for large-format, highly customized installations.
As bold, atypical wall designs become more prevalent, our program delivers precision at scale—utilizing advanced laser templating and off-site fabrication to ensure exacting accuracy.
Also, by cutting materials before they ever reach the jobsite, we significantly reduce silica exposure, improving safety while also minimizing installation time, material waste, and costly field adjustments.
The result is a smarter, more efficient process that brings complex, large-format designs to life with consistency and control - Floor to ceiling and anything in between.
The SelectSurfaces Leading Edge
Reality Capture
The SelectSurfaces uses a 3 dimensional approach to wrapping your room in stone.
Instead of relying soley on field measurements, our technician uses a 3D laser scanner to capture millions of data points from the jobsite.
• Creates a highly accurate point cloud (to within millimeters)
• Captures out-of-square conditions, irregular substrates, structural shifts
• Eliminates guesswork—especially critical in stone where tolerances are tight
Digital Modeling + Design Integration. That point cloud is imported into CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, etc.), where:
• Walls, elevations, and substrates are modeled exactly as-built
• Designers can overlay large-format stone layouts, book-matching, vein direction, and panel sequencing
• Complex geometries (curves, returns, niches) are resolved digitally before fabrication.
CNC / Waterjet Programming. The digital model drives fabrication:
• Panels are pre-cut off-site using CNC routers or waterjets
• Anchor points, reveals, and seams are pre-engineered
• Labeling systems ensure each piece installs in sequence
Off-Site Fabrication
• Safety - drastically reduces on-site silica dust (a growing OSHA concern)
• Speed - install becomes assembly vs. fabrication
• Accuracy - fewer field cuts = tighter joints, better alignment
• Waste reduction - optimized nesting from digital layouts
• Material to be delivered to our plant
NOTE: We will not miter Porcelain or most Natural stone (Preapproval required).
We must verbally request samples of unknown materials so that we can conduct test runs before starting work. This is for safety and to determine if the material will handle the fabrication process.
